Our Deacons

Meet our Deacons:

Nick Affolter

Nick has lived in the Seattle area since 2003.  He's been blessed with a wonderful family - married to Crystal in 2003, and they have a son Jacob and a daughter Charlotte.  They've been a part of the local body at Kirkland since 2012.

Nick was appointed a deacon in 2014, and his responsibilities include community outreach, worship service media, and online presence.

 
 
Brett Bader

Brett has been a deacon at Kirkland since 1997. He is married to Marda. They have two children; Morgan and Clark.  Brett's responsiblities include the picture directory, the new member board,  and marketing and advertising.  Recently, Brett has been assisting with our invitation events by putting out our radio ads and overseeing and managing our printing.

 
 
Roy Barron
 

Roy Barron has lived in the Seattle area since 1989.  He and his wife Kristen have been married for over 25 years and have four daughters grown daughters.  Roy was raised in the church where his father was a preacher for over 40 years.  Roy works in the high tech industry for a well-known local software company.  He and his family joined the Kirkland congregation in 1991 and have worshiped here continuously since.  Roy has been priviledged to serve as a deacon at Kirkland for almost 10 years and currently oversees the worship service and technology areas.  Outside of his deacon duties, Roy enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and staying fit and healthy.

 
 
Daryle Brown
 

Daryle Brown has lived in the Seattle area since 1986.  He and his wife Kari have been married for over 21 years and have three daughters between the ages of 6 through 19.  Daryle was raised in the church since age 6 down in a small farming community in southern Calif.  Daryle works in the construction industry and specializes in remedial work for a small company.  Daryle joined the Kirkland congregation in 1986 where He met is wife Kari, married 5 years later and have worshiped here continuously since.  Daryle has been privileged to serve as a deacon at Kirkland for almost 10 years and currently oversees building security and maintenance.  Outside of his deacon duties, Daryle enjoys spending time with his immediate and extended family, sports, and traveling.

 
Lance Fisher
 

Lance has been a member of the Kirkland Church of Christ since 1975. He is married to Mariana. They have three children; Stephen, Sarah, and Lily. In addition, they've been blessed with one grandchild, Ben.  He enjoys hiking, camping, family gatherings and photography.

His duties include the Kids Class program, Resource room, Communion Preparation, Baptistery and Building Janitorial. He is also involved in the song service. 

 

 

Jesse Haverstock

Jesse became a Christian in 1992.  In May 2005, he married Kammi Webb, who he first met at Florida College and then providentially found again in the Santee church.  In January 2008 they had their first child, Sophie Rae.  That same year they moved to Sammamish and joined the Kirkland congregation.  In July 2010 their second daughter, Kate Elizabeth, was born, and in September 2012 they were blessed with a boy, Tyler James.

Jesse became a deacon for the Kirkland church in 2012.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, Bible study, mountain biking, hiking, and snowboarding.  Jesse is happy to be part of the Kirkland church family, and feels privileged and blessed to serve as a deacon.

 
 
Dan McCowan
 

Dan has been a deacon at Kirkland for 13 years and been a member of the Kirkland church all his life. He married Dee in 1983. They have three sons; Daley (married to Nancy), Charlie, and Ryan.

Daley McCowan

Daley has been attending the Kirkland Church of Christ his entire life and became a member when he was baptized at the age of 15.  He is the eldest son of Dan and Dee McCowan who are also members at Kirkland (Dan is also a deacon).  Daley and his wife Nancy have two children, Clint and Evelyn.  In his free time he enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, wood working, and racquetball.  Daley feels very priviledged to serve as a deacon in the Lord's body at Kirkland. 

Daley was appointed a deacon in 2014, and his responsibilities include attendance, care for widows and elderly and other member services, and communion & baptismal supplies and preparation.

Mitchell Mellor

Mitchell became a christian in 1993 and has lived in the Seattle area since 1996.  He and his wife Melissa have two children, Sarah and Rachel.  Mitchell is a Structural Engineer and works for a local aerospace company.  He enjoys cycling, home improvement projects, and spending time with his family. 

Mitchell was appointed a deacon in 2014, and his responsiblities include assignments for the worship service and the teaching program.

 

Todd Nielsen

Todd became a member of the Lord's Church in 1983.  He and his wife Sheryl have known each other since grade school, growing up in Marysville, Washington.  They were married in August, 1990, and recently celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary.  They have two children: Jacob and Sofia (Miller). Todd attended song worship leader training in Oklahoma for 15 years and is passionate about teaching new hymns.  He enjoys all types of music, MLB baseball, accapella singing, spending time with his family, trips to Hawaii, home care, woodworking, and quiet times just relaxing. He and his family have been part of the Kirkland family since 2015.  Todd's deacon duties include: deaf outreach program, song leader development, pew hymnals and electronic editions, and building security.

Dave Neir

Dave was born and raised in the Kirkland, Washington area.  He married Suzanne (Rains) in 1976, and they have three children along with four grandchildren.  Dave became a CPA in 1977 and worked in a number of Finance and General Management positions during his career.  Dave retired from Microsoft in 1993 and currently volunteers with a number of organizations including: Leavenworth Summer Theater (President, Board of Directors); Chelan County Mosquito Control Dist. #3 (Chairman, Board of Commissioners); Wenatchee Valley Symphony (Musician - French Horn); Lakewenatcheeinfo.com (Founder). 

Dave was appointed a deacon in 2014, and his responsibilities include finance & administration.

 

Seth Reagan

Seth was raised by Christian parents and has been a member of the church of Christ since he was a boy.  He and his wife Jennifer are the proud parents of two young and energetic boys and a beautiful young daughter.  Seth earns his living as a trademark and copyright attorney.  During his free time he enjoys playing with his kids, running, playing sports, and reading.

 

Julian Robinson

Julian moved to the Seattle area in 2014 with Kim, his wife of 12 years, and his two children, Julia and Elijah.  He became a Christian in 1989 and lived on the East Coast the majority of his life including 12 years in North Carolina where he previously served as a deacon for 2 years.  Julian has been blessed to participate in missionary campaigns in Costa Rica and Panama over the past 10 years.  He works for the company with the “smile” logo in the South Lake Union area of Seattle.  In his spare time he enjoys playing with his kids, cycling, and watching sports with his wife.

Jesse Wilmore

Jesse Wilmore has been part of the family at Kirkland since the 4th grade.  He is the son of christian parents and his father is a former preacher (PK-Preachers Kid).  His responsibilities as a deacon mostly relate to aspects of worship through song.  He is teaching newer songs and coordinating the singing activities at Kirkland.  Jesse is married to Dominique Wilmore and they have a daughter named Posey.  Future plans are to grow Kirkland's evangelistic efforts through the medium of song.

In Jesse's free time he enjoys getting lost in the woods on his mountain bike, hiking, climbing, and composing music.
